Say goodbye to your mouse and keyboard

Leap Motion is a California-based startup developing advanced motion sensing technology for human-computer interaction.

This week, they publicly announced their first product – the Leap.

Leap is a small iPod-sized USB peripheral that creates a 3D interaction space of 8 cubic feet to precisely interact with and control software on your laptop or desktop computer.

    Sorry but this will never replace the pixel accuracy of moving a mouse on a hard surface. Styluses still aren’t that great either.

    Never say never, I find tones of usage for this tech.

    I wasn’t saying there’s no usage for it, I’m saying it’ll never replace the accuracy of a mouse. Human hands aren’t stable enough for a start.

    This is more accurate than a mouse because you have 10 option, 10 points of contact at all times. You really think in 20 years people will still even be able to use a mouse? The data feed would be WAY too much so this is the future, maybe not exactly this, but it will be in motion and not a mouse.

    Being able to type 140wmp using a keyboard, I hope this never ever gets into mainstream society.
